Filing a takedown notice
If you believe content on Edge Cutter infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated agent that includes all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is being infringed.
- Identification of the material that is allegedly infringing, including a URL.
- Your contact information: name, address, phone, email.
- A statement of your good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

What happens after we receive a valid notice
We will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the user who posted it.
- Allow them to file a counter-notification under §512(g).
Counter-notifications
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification. It must contain:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and its location before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone number.
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your address (or, if outside the US, any district in which Edge Cutter may be found) and consent to accept service of process from the original complainant.
After we receive a valid counter-notification, the law requires us to wait 10–14 business days before restoring the content, unless we receive notice that the original complainant has filed suit.
Repeat infringers
We will terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers, as required by §512(i).
Misrepresentations
Section 512(f) provides that anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing (or that material was removed by mistake) may be liable for damages. Don't submit notices in bad faith.
